A History of Families from the White House: US Presidents Who Were Related to Other Presidents

John Adams (1735-1826) was the second president of the US, and his son, John Quincy Adams (1767-1848), became the sixth US president.

William Henry Harrison (1773-1841) was the ninth president of the United States. His grandson, Benjamin Harrison (1833-1901), became the 23rd president.

The third president after Benjamin Harrison was Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919). Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1882-1945) was a fifth cousin of Theodore as well as the 32nd US president.

George Herbert Walker Bush (1924-present), 41st president of the United States, was also the father of George Walker Bush (1946-present) who became the 43rd US president.

As pointed out above, the history of America’s presidents has seen several members of the sameĀ families being elected to the Oval Office.
